Saidu Dakingari, the former governor of Kebbi state has been arrested by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC), This Day reports.
According to the report, Dakingari is currently being quizzed by operatives of the EFCC in Kano for his alleged involvement in the sharing of N450 million PDP campaign slush fund.

Dakingari was also asked to explain how another amount of N550 million state funds were diverted to his party, the PDP, during the 2015 presidential campaigns.
In a statement released by Medard Ehimika, the media head of Kano zone of EFCC, it was gathered that Dakingari is cooperating with operatives in the investigations.
Dakingari was in October 2015 first arrested by the EFCC over allegations that he laundered N3.8 billion from the state.
He was detained at the EFCC headquarters for several hours before his release.
Dakingari is an in-law to late Nigerian President Umaru Musa Yar’dua.
Recently, the EFCC also arrested Dakingari’s wife, Zainab. She was accused of laundering N2billion for her husband.
Dakingari was elected governor of Kebbi state on the platform of the PDP in 2007.
